The History of Fahrenheit 451 Read a brief history of the stories journey through the ages...

Fahrenheit 451 tells the tales of a normal man, Guy Montag, who works in a futuristic society where he is a fireman.  He goes to the houses of people that have possession of books and he burns their houses and all of their possessions. Eventually, Montag realizes the problems in his society and he plans a rebellion.
Fahrenheit 451 was written by Ray Bradbury prior to being published in 1951.  It was published in a shorter form as "The Fireman" in Galaxy Science Fiction, which was an American science fiction magazine.  Later in 1953 an edited version was published in three separate sections.  Later that year the first official version of Fahrenheit 451 was published be Ballantine Books in Paperback.  The book was also later published by Playboy Magazine.  You may know Playboy for its scantily clothed women but it also has a history of publishing well-known journalists and novelists as well as interviews with important people. Fahrenheit 451 eventually became a classic American novel that has been read by all generations.
